Thinking about your own funeral may not be something you particularly want to do. Yet taking some time to consider it in advance can bring peace of mind. What matters most to you? Would you prefer to be buried or cremated? Where and how would you like people to say goodbye to you? Is there music you would like to have played, or are there other personal wishes you would like to express?

At Funeral Home Coorevits, you can discuss these choices with us and record your wishes in advance. This gives you the reassurance of knowing that your wishes are known. At the same time, it means that those closest to you will have fewer difficult decisions to make when the time comes.

How much you choose to arrange in advance is entirely up to you. Some people prefer to record only the main wishes. Others know exactly how they would like their farewell to be one day, right down to the music, flowers or funeral announcement. Both are possible. And of course, you can always change your choices later.

A complete funeral plan can consist of three parts: an agreement in which we record your personal wishes, a declaration of last wishes registered with the local municipality and, if you wish, a financial arrangement or funeral insurance policy.

Funeral arrangement agreement

During a personal meeting, we discuss how you would like your farewell to be. This may include choosing between burial and cremation and deciding where the ceremony should take place, as well as very personal details such as music, flowers, funeral stationery or the reception after the funeral.

We then clearly record your wishes in writing. This ensures that both we and your family know what is important to you when the time comes.

Declaration of last wishes

You can also have a number of important choices officially registered with your local municipality. In a declaration of last wishes, you can indicate, among other things, whether you wish to be buried or cremated, what should happen to your ashes, according to which religious or philosophical beliefs any ceremony should be conducted, and in which municipality you would like your final resting place to be.

You can also have it recorded that an agreement concerning your funeral arrangements exists. This ensures that, when you pass away, the municipality is aware that you made certain choices in advance.

Funeral Insurance

If you wish, you can also consider the financial aspects of your funeral in advance. Whether funeral insurance is useful for you depends on your personal circumstances. We will be happy to explain how such insurance works, so that you can decide for yourself whether it is right for you.
